Job Summary



The Advisor, Global MHPSS TU provides technical quality oversight and programmatic guidance for mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) activities globally and at country level. This role ensures programs meet international standards and supports capacity building, crosscutting integration, and advocacy.







Key Responsibilities

Provide guidance and oversight for culturally appropriate MHPSS activities, including case management, early childhood development, and youth programs


Support proposal development and new MHPSS programming initiatives


Ensure compliance with IASC MHPSS guidelines and IMC technical standards


Integrate MHPSS programming with Nutrition, Health, Child Protection, and GBV program areas


Support country-level coordination and advocacy with government and partner organizations


Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation tools to track program outcomes


Represent IMC at conferences, meetings, and in stakeholder engagements


Conduct field visits to support teams and provide technical assistance


Prepare reports, situational analyses, and recommendations from field visits

Required Qualifications

4-year University degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)


Licensed mental health professional (psychologist, clinical social worker, psychiatrist, or psychiatric nurse)


10+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in MHPSS program setup and management in humanitarian/low-resource settings


In-depth knowledge of global MHPSS guidelines


Experience in training, mentoring, and capacity building


Strong organizational, supervisory, reporting, and interpersonal skills


Ability to work independently or in a team and cope with challenging environments


Willingness to travel frequently on short notice


Excellent command of written and spoken English
