Communications Specialist

Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi) is seeking an experienced Communications Specialist to lead communications, media relations, digital content and stakeholder engagement across health and development programmes.

Develop internal and external communication content.

Manage newsletters, websites, blogs, press releases and social media platforms.

Support media relations, communication campaigns and press events.

Develop success stories, IEC/BCC materials, infographics and reports.

Strengthen organisational brand visibility and stakeholder engagement.

Support advocacy, resource mobilisation and donor compliance activities.

Liaise with local and international media organisations.

Monitor media coverage and communication performance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Social Sciences or a related field.
• Master’s degree is an advantage.
• 5–7 years of progressive experience in the NGO/development sector.
• Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills.
• Digital communication, social media and graphic design skills.
• High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Experience in advocacy, health or humanitarian projects.
• Knowledge of PEPFAR, Global Fund or similar donor requirements is an advantage.
• Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder-management skills.
