Remote DevOps Engineer

Helium Health is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to build and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure, automate deployment workflows and support reliable, secure software delivery.

Build and deploy containerised and microservice-based applications using Docker and Kubernetes.

Develop reusable Terraform code and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules.

Support and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure.

Monitor systems using Prometheus, Grafana and Loki.

Instrument services, build dashboards and define alerting rules for logs and metrics.

Optimise applications and infrastructure for speed, reliability and scalability.

Collaborate with developers and Agile teams on software delivery and troubleshooting.

Support CI/CD and automation using Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, Puppet or similar tools.

Work with PostgreSQL, MySQL and Redis databases.

Incorporate security best practices throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

3–5 years of professional DevOps experience.

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

Proficiency in Python and Bash.

Ability to read, understand and troubleshoot Elixir, PHP, JavaScript or similar languages.

Experience building reusable Terraform code and modules.

Experience migrating cloud resources to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is an advantage.

Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana and Loki.

Experience with AWS and Azure.

Experience optimising applications for speed and scalability.

Experience working with Agile teams.

Experience with Git, Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, Chef, Puppet or similar tools.

Strong understanding of readable, well-designed, well-architected and well-tested software.

Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL and Redis.

Good oral and written communication skills.

Experience incorporating security best practices into the SDLC.
