Job Summary

Fadac Resources is recruiting a highly experienced University Bursar to serve as the Chief Financial Officer of a university, overseeing financial strategy, budgeting, compliance, and overall financial management to ensure sustainability and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the university’s financial strategy in line with institutional goals
  • Prepare, implement, and monitor annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts
  • Oversee accounting operations including ledger management, payables, receivables, and payroll
  • Supervise student financial services including tuition billing, fee collection, and account management
  • Manage financial aid, scholarships, grants, and loan programs
  • Ensure transparent financial dealings with students, parents, and stakeholders
  • Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, accounting standards, and audit requirements
  • Develop and enforce financial policies and internal controls
  • Manage university funds, reserves, endowments, and investment decisions
  • Oversee asset management and financial risk mitigation strategies
  • Lead and supervise bursary and finance department staff
  • Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to ensure smooth financial operations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 10 to 15 years experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, CPA) highly desirable
  • Experience in education sector or public sector finance is an advantage
  • Strong leadership, financial planning, and analytical skills
  • Excellent knowledge of financial reporting and compliance standards
