Coldroom Technician Abuja.

We are urgently looking for an experienced Cold Room Technician to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, and emergency repair of all cold rooms, freezers, chillers, and refrigeration systems to ensure 100% uptime of our cold chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine preventive maintenance on cold rooms, blast chillers, walk-in freezers, and refrigeration units
• Diagnose and repair faults in refrigeration systems (compressor, evaporator, condenser, refrigerant leaks, thermostats, sensors, etc.)
• Perform refrigerant recovery, charging, and leak testing
• Maintain accurate logs of temperature, repairs, and spare parts used
• Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns (24/7 on-call rotation applies)
• Ensure compliance with food safety and HACCP standards in cold storage areas
• Work with the team on new cold room installations and modifications when required

Requirements

• OND, HND, or B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning, or related field
• Minimum 4 years hands-on experience in industrial cold room/freezer maintenance (experience in food production, hospitality, or in-flight catering is a strong advantage)
• Proven experience with ammonia or Freon systems is an added advantage
• Ability to read electrical and refrigeration diagrams
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Must be resident in Abuja or willing to relocate immediately
• Valid trade test certificate or RAC certification is a plus
