Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to lead a high-performing sales team responsible for acquiring, growing, and managing SME banking relationships across a range of industries, including hospitality, restaurants, and retail. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in driving revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing tailored financial solutions, and fostering strong customer relationships. You will own the performance of your sales team while partnering with Product, Credit, and Operations to deliver innovative and value-driven banking services to our SME clients.


Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities are

1. Develop and implement sales strategies to acquire, grow, and retain SME clients across sectors such as hospitality, restaurants, retail, and professional services. 

2. Drive revenue and profitability through proactive business development, cross-selling, and market expansion initiatives.

3. Lead end-to-end client engagement—from prospecting and onboarding to relationship deepening and portfolio growth. 

4. Deliver tailored solutions aligned with client needs while maintaining strong, trust-based relationships that ensure satisfaction, loyalty, and long-term value.

5. Build and manage strategic alliances with business associations, trade networks, and ecosystem partners to enhance market reach. 

6. Collaborate with internal teams (Product, Credit, Operations, Marketing) to deliver partnership-driven solutions that create mutual business value.

7. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team, setting clear objectives and KPIs.

8. Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement, ensuring the team delivers on growth and service excellence goals.

9. Ensure efficient sales operations through structured processes, CRM management, and data-driven performance tracking.

10. Uphold regulatory standards and internal policies in all client and portfolio management activities, ensuring smooth coordination with Operations and Finance.

11. Act as the primary liaison between the SME Sales team and internal business units.

12. Provide performance insights, identify emerging opportunities, and represent SME Sales in strategic forums while championing the voice of SME clients across the organization.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. 

• A Master’s degree or professional certification (ACIB, CIM, MBA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.

• Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in sales, business development, or relationship management within the banking or financial services industry, including at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or team lead role managing SME portfolios.

• Proven track record in acquiring, developing, and managing SME client relationships, delivering tailored financial solutions, and consistently meeting or exceeding sales and revenue targets.

• In-depth understanding of SME and retail banking operations, credit processes, and financial product offerings relevant to small and medium enterprises across sectors such as hospitality, retail, and professional services.

• Strong communication, negotiation, and people management abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to lead teams, foster collaboration, and influence key stakeholders.

• Proficiency in CRM systems and sales performance tools; strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to interpret data, monitor performance, and identify business growth opportunities.
