Job Summary

A leading and well-established Microfinance Bank is seeking a customer-focused and professional Customer Care Officer to serve as the first point of contact for customers. The successful candidate will handle account opening, customer inquiries, complaint resolution, and support business growth by delivering exceptional customer service and promoting the bank's products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and attend to customers, providing information on banking products and services.
  • Process account opening requests and verify KYC documentation before compliance review.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and service requests while ensuring timely resolution.
  • Process customer instructions, including account updates, mandates, and standing orders.
  • Maintain complaint logs and follow up on issues within agreed service timelines.
  • Contact dormant customers for account reactivation and promote new banking products.
  • Cross-sell savings, thrift, and loan products, referring qualified leads to the sales team.
  • Prepare daily customer service reports and support telephone and WhatsApp banking during peak periods.

Required Qualifications

  • B.Sc., HND, or OND in any discipline (Business, Social Sciences, or Mass Communication is an advantage).
  • 1–3 years of experience in customer service, front desk, or banking operations.
  • Customer Service or CRM certification is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of account opening procedures, KYC documentation, and complaint resolution.
  • Good understanding of core banking operations and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-focused with high ethical standards and a professional appearance.
  • Fluency in English and Igbo is essential; knowledge of Pidgin English is an added advantage.
