Nutrition and Health Officer

Action Against Hunger is seeking a qualified Nutrition and Health Officer to support the implementation of nutrition and primary healthcare interventions in Sokoto State. The ideal candidate will have experience in Community Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM), public health programming, and team supervision, with the ability to deliver quality health and nutrition services while ensuring effective reporting and program implementation.

• Support the implementation of nutrition and primary healthcare activities in line with organizational standards.
• Coordinate and monitor CMAM and other public health interventions.
• Supervise and provide technical support to health and nutrition staff.
• Prepare timely program reports and maintain accurate documentation.
• Monitor program performance and provide feedback to improve service delivery.
• Conduct community engagement and health promotion activities.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, protocols, and donor requirements.
• Collaborate with local health authorities and other stakeholders to strengthen program implementation.

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health, or another relevant discipline with experience in Public Health and CMAM programming.
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience in primary healthcare programming.
• Excellent report writing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Hausa.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience managing teams in similar health or nutrition programs.
• Ability to observe activities, provide constructive feedback, and supervise staff effectively.
• Ability to manage staff in line with local culture and organizational policies.
