Backend Software Engineer

Escrow-Tech Nigeria Limited is hiring an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join the AfWS Eko Atlantic City Tier-III Data Centre project. The successful candidate will develop and maintain secure, scalable backend systems, APIs, and cloud-based applications that support mission-critical infrastructure.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications
• Build and manage RESTful APIs and WebSocket services
• Integrate message brokers such as MQTT, RabbitMQ, or Kafka into backend systems
• Develop secure, high-performance applications using modern backend technologies
• Manage PostgreSQL databases and optimize application performance
• Deploy and maintain applications using Docker and cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable software solutions
• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code following best practices

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 3 years' backend software engineering experience in a production environment
• Strong proficiency in Python and at least one of Node.js, Go, or Java
• Experience building RESTful APIs, WebSocket services, and integrating message brokers (MQTT, RabbitMQ, or Kafka)
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL, Docker, and cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred)
• Experience developing scalable, secure, and well-tested backend applications
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
