Head of Finance

The organization is seeking a strategic Head of Finance (CFO-level) to lead financial transformation and build the finance function from the ground up. This is a hands-on leadership role combining strategic financial planning with operational execution, supporting business growth and decision-making.

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting processes
• Build and scale the finance team from 3 to 8 members
• Establish financial controls, SOPs, and reporting systems
• Manage banking relationships including performance bonds, guarantees, and credit facilities
• Advise the MD/Board on pricing strategies, investments, and growth decisions
• Drive monthly financial performance reviews

Systems & Project Accounting:

• Lead Odoo ERP implementation currently in progress
• Oversee financial management of 10–20 concurrent installation projects
• Manage advance payment structures (40–80%), WIP accounting, and milestone billing
• Implement percentage-of-completion revenue recognition (IFRS 15)
• Track and report project profitability in real time
• Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements (FIRS, CAC, audits)

Requirements

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA (mandatory)
• Minimum of 10+ years progressive finance experience
• At least 5+ years in a senior finance leadership role
• Experience in project-based industries (construction, EPC, installation)
• Strong understanding of advance payment structures and retention accounting
• Proven experience building finance functions from scratch
• ERP implementation experience (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or Odoo is a strong advantage)
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
• Must be Lagos-based or willing to relocate

Additional Advantage:

• Manufacturing cost accounting experience
• Knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory optimization
