Private Chef

Ruth and Roots is looking for an experienced Private Chef to manage meal preparation and kitchen operations while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety. The ideal candidate should be skilled in preparing a variety of meals, organized, and capable of handling all kitchen affairs efficiently.

Job Description:

Prepare meals according to specific dietary needs and preferences

Follow recipes accurately, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients

Bake, grill, steam, boil, and prepare meats, vegetables, fish, poultry, and other meals as required

Present, garnish, and arrange dishes professionally before serving

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment

Properly handle utensils, kitchen equipment, and dishes

Manage food ingredients, storage, and stock control

Ensure all ingredients used are fresh and of good quality

Maintain food safety and sanitation standards at all times

Learn and adapt to new recipes when required

Wear assigned uniform consistently while on duty

Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned

Must have completed catering courses with a Diploma or Degree qualification

Minimum of 4 – 5 years experience as a professional Chef

Strong ability to manage all kitchen operations independently

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines

Must be highly organized and detail-oriented

Good knowledge of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen management
