Job Summary

New Era is seeking a detail-oriented Fleet Monitoring Officer to oversee and manage the real-time movement and performance of company vehicles. The role focuses on enforcing route compliance, driving standards, and operational policies to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective fleet operations.








Key Responsibilities

Track and monitor company vehicles in real time using GPS and fleet management systems


Observe vehicle locations, speed levels, routes, stoppages, and trip completion status


Ensure drivers comply with approved routes, schedules, and speed regulations


Identify and report route deviations, unauthorized usage, and extended stoppages


Communicate with drivers on delays, route changes, and operational concerns


Escalate incidents related to speeding, unsafe driving, or suspicious activity


Provide navigation support and route clarification to drivers when required


Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly fleet monitoring and performance reports


Record incidents, violations, breakdowns, and unusual operational activities


Maintain accurate trip records, fuel consumption data, and vehicle performance logs


Support theft prevention by monitoring alerts and vehicle movement patterns


Respond promptly to emergency alerts, security issues, and vehicle breakdowns


Ensure adherence to fleet safety standards and operational guidelines


Work closely with logistics and operations teams to support daily activities


Assist with vehicle scheduling, downtime monitoring, and maintenance alerts


Analyze fleet data to improve route efficiency and fuel management


Required Qualifications

OND, HND, or B.Sc in Transport Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related discipline


One to three years experience in fleet monitoring, transport operations, or control room functions


Familiarity with GPS tracking or fleet management software is an added advantage


Basic reporting and data analysis skills


Strong communication and coordination abilities


Willingness to work shifts, including weekends or night duties when necessary


High level of attention to detail and strong situational awareness
