Job Summary

Headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria, AIG operates across multiple sectors, including steel manufacturing, power generation, building materials, logistics, renewable energy, and more. The company is currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to oversee and maintain the mechanical systems at its DRI plant in Gujeni, Kaduna.

Key Responsibilities


  • Plan, execute, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment such as rotary kilns, coolers, conveyors, compressors, and pumps.
  • Lead a team of technicians and fitters during repair and maintenance activities.
  • Monitor performance and condition of rotating equipment, checking vibration, temperature, and lubrication levels.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective measures.
  • Develop maintenance schedules and spare part requirements in coordination with the planning department.
  • Ensure strict compliance with mechanical safety standards and proper use of work permits.
  • Participate in installation, testing, and commissioning of new machinery and plant upgrades.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs and prepare daily operational reports.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in DRI, Steel, Cement, or Process Plant maintenance.
  • Strong technical expertise in rotary machinery, conveyors, gearboxes, and hydraulic or pneumatic systems.
  • Proficiency with maintenance management software (CMMS) and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
