Job Summary

Barry Callebaut is seeking an experienced and motivated HR Operations Specialist to support the execution of HR strategies, payroll processing, and employee lifecycle management in Douala. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with labor laws, foster strong employee relations, and provide efficient HR services that enhance the overall employee experience.






Key Responsibilities

Manage payroll processing, benefits administration, and HR transactions in compliance with company policies and local labor laws


Maintain accurate HRIS records including contracts, compensation, benefits, and employee data


Support recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes


Prepare and manage all employment-related documentation (e.g., contracts, NDAs, NSIF declarations)


Oversee employee transfers, promotions, and terminations ensuring compliance with legal requirements


Participate in disciplinary procedures, performance management, and organizational development initiatives


Monitor HR compliance and internal/external audits


Support the implementation of HR policies, frameworks, and talent management programs


Generate monthly HR reports, headcount data, and cost summaries


Advise managers on employee relations and engagement strategies


Collaborate on risk identification and mitigation related to human capital management


Maintain confidentiality and ensure high data integrity in all HR operations


Required Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Social Sciences, or Business Administration


Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HR operations, payroll, or administration (preferably in manufacturing or agro-industry)


Fluent in both French and English


Strong understanding of labor laws, HR compliance, and collective bargaining agreements


Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, and HRIS tools (SAP SuccessFactors preferred)


Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills


Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities


Customer-oriented mindset with strong service ethics


Ability to handle confidential information with discretion


Experience working in a multinational or fast-paced environment
