Job Summary

United Nigeria Airlines is seeking a Procurement Officer in Lagos to manage sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of goods and services required for airline operations. This includes aircraft parts, maintenance services, ground handling equipment, and general operational supplies, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, compliance, and timely availability.



Key Responsibilities

Source and procure aircraft components, rotables, consumables, tooling, and ground support equipment aligned with operational requirements


Support long-term supplier strategies for MRO, OEMs, and approved vendors


Identify, evaluate, and onboard approved suppliers in compliance with aviation regulations


Maintain supplier relationships to ensure reliability, quality, and cost competitiveness


Prepare and manage RFQs, RFPs, and tender documents; negotiate pricing, lead times, and contracts


Achieve cost savings and optimize procurement spend without compromising safety or quality


Track procurement budgets and analyze market trends and price fluctuations


Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, company policies, and audit requirements


Coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Finance, and Stores departments


Expedite critical material requirements and monitor inventory levels for just-in-time procurement



Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field


2–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in airline or aviation industry


Familiarity with aviation regulations and certification requirements preferred


Experience with ERP or procurement systems (e.g., SAM, SAP, AMOS, TRAX)


Strong negotiation, supplier management, and analytical skills


Knowledge of aviation procurement, MRO, and aircraft parts


High attention to detail, compliance awareness, and stakeholder coordination


Ability to work under pressure, especially during AOG situations
