Job Summary

Jaza is a fast-growing solar energy start-up dedicated to powering Sub-Saharan Africa through sustainable, affordable, and community-driven energy solutions. The company builds solar-powered hubs that charge batteries used by customers to power their homes. Jaza is expanding rapidly across Nigeria and seeks a skilled Regional Service Engineer (RSE) to lead technical operations and manage a team of Field Service Engineers across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead and supervise Field Service Engineers (FSEs) to ensure optimal hub performance and energy uptime.
  • Oversee the setup of new solar hubs, ensuring seamless system connectivity and maintenance of energy systems.
  • Conduct technical reviews and ensure compliance with company standards and HSE policies.
  • Analyze technical data and collaborate with the Network Operations Centre (NOC) to identify and resolve issues.
  • Monitor and report on hub performance metrics and technical operations.
  • Develop and conduct regular training for FSEs to enhance their technical capacity.
  • Coordinate with Jaza Stars and Regional Coordinators to address field challenges efficiently.
  • Prepare and submit monthly technical reports to management on power availability and system efficiency.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at improving reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of operations.


Required Qualifications


  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in technical or engineering leadership, preferably in the energy, solar, or telecommunications industry.
  • Strong hands-on expertise and understanding of solar and energy systems.
  • Excellent analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience managing field teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and data analysis tools.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently, travel frequently, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
